A Dream Come True
Anne and Maureen both reside in a Crosslinks Disability Accommodation. After months of planning and organising, this month Anne and Maureen jetted off to Sydney for a huge weekend of FUN!
This has been a goal for both ladies for a very long time. The was a whole team effort to make this happen 🙂 dedication and support of their wonderful team, worked together to make this happen 😊
An Adventure Awaits
What an adventure it was, for Disability Accommodation Tenants – Anne and Maureen! From checking out the Grand Opera House to walking around Darling Harbour. They also loved watching the ships go under the Harbour bridge, the ladies had the most amazing time! Alongside exploring Taronga Zoo, seeing all the animals and going on the rides at Luna Park, what an action-packed weekend it was!
On return we asked the ladies what their highlight of the weekend was, “
“My Favourite part was going to Sydney Cricket Ground for the footy and of course the shopping! ” – Maureen
Maureen was in her element heading off to the SCG to watch Carlton play the Sydney Swans. A massive Carlton supporter, she was evidently disappointed when they lost to the Swans. However, that didn’t last long when she went out for dinner and did some more shopping on the way home! Maureen loved sightseeing and thoroughly enjoyed exploring all the new places. She has not stopped talking about her adventures to staff, family and friends since she returned and is already planning her next trip!
Anne’s favourite part was spending some time with her Dad! Anne and her Dad had some quality time together and bonded over their love of movies. It had been over 20 years since Anne seen her Dad in person, so this was a very special trip for them both! Furthermore, Anne learnt some of her family’s history and culture and brought home a few family mementos to share with her sister. Anne is already asking can she go back again next year!
Both ladies have had the best time and a massive thanks to her wonderful support workers Jess and Claudia who supported the ladies over the weekend, we are sure it was lots of fun for you as well 😊
We would also like to acknowledge Chelle, the support Coordinator for the ladies. Chelle helped with the planning process from start to finish.
